Programs 1. SUMMER PICNIC AT THE JEWISH HOME OF EASTERN PA IN SCRANTON. Auxiliary serve ice cream and cookies to the residents. An entertainer is brought in for their enjoyment. 2. MONTHLY BINGOS AT THE NORTHEASTERN PA VETERANS HOME IN SCRANTON. In addition to playing Bingo, snacks are served and monetary prizes are presented. The Post and Auxiliary also have a yearly Christmas party and distribute gifts to the residents at the home.
4. SUMMER PARTY AT ELAN GARDENS SENIOR RESIDENCE. Auxiliary members serve refreshments and sponsor entertainment for the residents. 5. CHRISTMAS DAY AT THE NEPA VETERANS HOME IN SCRANTON. On Christmas Day, auxiliary members bring refreshments and gaily wrapped gifts to the residents of the Gino J. Merdi Veterans Home.
7. DISTRIBUTION OF SAMPLE TOILETRIES. Another on-going project. A large collection of sample toiletries was made and given to the McAuley Center for Women and to the Women's Resource Center. The Auxiliary helps to distribute these samples to the needy. 8. MONTHLY NEWSLETTER: An informative newsletter is sent to all members advising them of the meetings, special projects and events being planned. Beautifully done by Odessa & Meyer Levine. Emily Trunzo does the newsletter when the Levines are out of town.
10. FUND RAISERS. The Auxiliary, each year, organizes a trip and a raffle to raise the funds which support our projects. It is our sincere hope that we can continue with these projects and other worthwhile endeavors for many more years to come. 11. JOINT BREAKFAST. Two joint breakfasts are planned each year. Sponsored by the men of Post 165 and prepared and served by the women of the auxiliary, this has become the highlight of the year. A wonderful bagel, cream cheese & lox, danish & coffee breakfast is served. After breakfast, post and auxiliary have their separate meetings.
