The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania provides quality
nursing and elder care to the elderly. The Home serves people from
all races, religions and nationalities. All major insurances and Medicare
are accepted.

The Jewish Home is a Not-for-Profit community owned, 173 bed licensed skilled nursing facility respected for its high quality, affordable care. Medicare and Medicaid approved, the Home, has a highly qualified, compassionate staff. Features include comprehensive rehabilitative therapy, adult day care, and the renown Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Alzheimer's Unit and Program. In addition, the Home provides quality recreational programs and events, and declicious kosher meals, all in a beautiful home-like environment. With a Synagogue on the premises, you'll find the celebration of all Jewish Holidays and traditions.

The mission of the Jewish Home it is to provide high quality, dignified and compassionate services to all residents in need of long term care. The Jewish Home also recognizes the uniqueness and sanctity of each resident when addressing care needs. While the Jewish Home is founded on traditional Jewish values, each resident's personal observance of religion is encouraged and respected.

Three Generations of Service: The Jewish Home has experienced steady growth in size and services since its first resident was admitted in 1921. Its modern six story nursing complex can accommodate 175 individuals. We are proud of our heritage of quality health care for generations of elderly individuals and couples.

NURSING CARE
is the hallmark of The Jewish Home. With a very high ratio of staff to residents, services are rendered by registered nurses and certified nursing assistants. Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day to Monitor residents' well-being. Residents have the option of semi-private and private rooms. Nursing units are differentiated by the level of care provided and are designed to meet the unique needs of each resident.

MEDICAL SERVICES
are provided to each resident at the Jewish Home by a primary care physician. The resident may choose to be under the care of one of the Home's Medical Directors or another physician of their preference. Professional dental, ophthalmology and podiatry services are available on site.

REHABILITATIVE CARE
at the Jewish Home renews disabled residents' self-esteem by placing them in control, providing opportunities for making decisions, thereby reestablishing and maintaining dignity and self worth. In a state-of-art therapy department, a full complement of registered physical, occupational and speech therapists assess residents' strengths and potential upon admission. Additionally, the Restorative Care Program strives to promote ambulation, strengthening, range of motion exercises, dressing, bathing and positioning programs. Both therapists and restorative staff instruct residents in the use of adaptive devices that enable them to be more comfortable and functional.

THE HARRY AND JEANETTE WEINBERG ALZHEIMER'S UNIT AND PROGRAM
is specially suited to handle the needs of persons suffering from this debilitating disease and other related dementias. The unit provides maximum independence within a safely controlled environment. The health, comfort and dignity of all residents provide the focus for the interdisciplinary staff on this unit. A structured activity program is conducted by a full-time recreation staff.

DIETARY SERVICES
Residents enjoy the highest quality dietary services, which are provided and monitored with the utmost care. Registered dietitians plan daily menus, with special concern for diets prescribed by physicians. A state-of-the-art kitchen and beautifully appointed dining room provide delicious, nutritious and wholesome meals. Special programs throughout the year offer an opportunity for residents and families to dine together. The Jewish Home observes Kosher dietary laws.

SOCIAL SERVICES
in the Jewish Home consist of a professional staff available seven days a week. Licensed social workers assist residents and their families with a variety of professional services designed to enrich the lives of residents during their stay. Confidential professional counseling is available to any resident or family member in need of this service.

RECREATIONAL SERVICES
are planned and conducted by a highly trained and enthusiastic staff with an array of programs designed to stimulate, entertain and motivate. Events range from guest entertainment, outings and picnics, musicals, movies and sing-a-longs, to the favorites of bingo and arts and crafts. A fully equipped Beauty & Barber Shop enables residents to look and feel their best year-round.

RELIGIOUS SERVICES
for all faiths are regularly scheduled. Jewish Sabbath and Holiday Services are conducted in a traditional chapel. The Home also has a candle lighting room for use by residents. Local Rabbis regularly participate in the Spiritual Program and clergy of all denominations visit and minister to the residents.

THE ADULT DAY PROGRAM
serves senior adults who continue to reside in their own homes, but require supervision and assistance during the day. The program administers personal care, meals, medication, physical therapy, recreational activities, physician services, transportation and other individualized services.
